The georadar investigation resulted in mapping the roof of primary deposits (bedrock) to detect 'pockets' that are potential traps for alluvial diamonds.
The georadar investigation detected four potential traps for alluvial diamonds further confirmed by uncovering. Diamonds were extracted from the detected traps.
Efforts to use other geophysical methods to detect alluvial diamonds in highly salted beach sands in the region failed to bring over such accurate and substantiated results.
Georadar section, Profile 1
1 – profile direction and length in meters; 2 – sands of different water saturation; 3 – bedrocks (gneisses); 4 – potential traps for alluvial diamonds according to georadar survey data
Georadar Profile 1 direction: from the surface of primary deposits (gneisses) toward the ocean along the beach sands.
